AMY BOWDEN, LCSW

My name is Amy Bowden. I believe the goal of therapy is to reflect on life struggles, address problematic behaviors, thoughts and feelings, understand there are alternatives and choices for moving forward and discover helpful techniques that can engage that process. Therapy is for defining a personal understanding of self and setting the goals you want to accomplish that will add value and meaning for your life. I understand the need for support for this process and the importance of the therapist/client relationship through a person-centered and strengths-based philosophy. I received my Master in Social Work degree from a joint educational program with the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and North Carolina Agricultural and Technical University. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and have specialized training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, and Psychotherapy. I also regularly attend continuing educational trainings.
